The Classic Museum version of Black Panther represents (in my humble opinion) one of the most elegant statues of the entire Bowen catalogue. The piece was digitally sculpted by Jason Smith and released in 200 with an edition size of 900 copies. This awesome collectible stands out for its simplicity and the charm of the sculptural lines. Faithful to the tables of old comics, Black Panther exhibits a very particular pose: a just sketched step, the right hand open and the position of arms and head clearly suggest a dynamism of the figure, thus achieving a clear differentiation from the typical features of the static, museum pose (the hero always perfectly erect with legs stretched out and, often, clenched fists). Nevertheless, the perfection of the sculpt, pointed out by the total absence of polychromy and the use of a masterful matte black, enhances in a surprising way the powerful physique of the hero. In this way, the statue gives off a sense of pride and majesty even higher than those of the classic museum poses, thus centering in full, indeed, the typical features of the character. The muscular contours are reproduced superbly, from the mighty chest muscles and biceps to abdominals, calves and quadriceps, in an extremely harmonious balance of strength and elegance. An almost imperceptible touch of gloss differentiates the black striated gloves and boots from the dominant tone of the suit, while the white eyes stand out in the totally covered face. Note the perfect shape of the nose, the hollows at the temples and mouth, the wrinkles between the eyes and the pronounced, perfectly shaped ears: some top-quality details which provide the figure with the traits and the appearance of a real panther! The base is simple, but fitting to the context: it is circular, looks like metal and exhibits a stylized face of a panther, centered in the support plane. A piece with an extraordinary aesthetic impact and one of my favorite Bowen statue.
